Albany, New York-- April 11, 2006. Good deeds performed quietly and without fanfare are rewarded in the Real Estate Business in Albany, NY. Last week, TechValley Homes Real Estate (www.TechValleyHomes.com) Owner/Broker, Miguel Berger, was awarded the 2006 Ralph P. DuPont Award for his continued support of the community, the Real Estate Industry, and an number of professional organizations including the National Association of Realtors, the New York State Association of Realtors and the Greater Capital Association of Realtors (GCAR).

During the awards ceremony, Berger was commended for his volunteer work with several Realtor associations and with industry groups. He was also recognized for his community and humanitarian work with Habitat for Humanity, the Make a Wish Foundation, and for his devoted work to promote the use of technology in the real estate industry locally and nationally.

“I was shocked,” said Berger, “Sure, I work with the community a lot, but I didn’t think anyone else noticed. I certainly didn’t expect my peers to recognize me in this way, but it makes me feel great!” Berger continued. “There are a number of wonderful people in the Real Estate community and I’m proud to be working alongside such a dedicated group of industry professionals.”

According to a GCAR statement, the award (named after the first Executive Director of the Albany County Board of Realtors, Ralph DuPont) is granted each year to the individual who has always been there for GCAR, but doesn’t always receive proper recognition.

During the award presentation, Berger’s work within the Industry was recounted, including his service on several industry boards of directors, education initiatives, and membership in several specialized real estate organizations. Berger was particularly recognized for “Being understanding of, and passionate for, changing the industry to welcome and embrace today’s computer technologies… (and Berger) has never hesitated to share this understanding with his competitors.”

“Technology and Customer Service are my things,” said Berger, “I enjoy providing the best for my customers and sharing industry information with my peers. I’m pleased to see technology being adopted by more and more brokerages here and across the US.”
